This December Melbourne will play host to the largest and most diverse multifaith gathering of religious and spiritual communities in the world, the Parliament of the World's Religions.
Held from the December 3-9 at the new Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Parliament will provide an opportunity for Melbourne to demonstrate its commitment to diversity, peace, sustainability and reconciliation, on a global platform.
The theme for this year's Parliament is Make a World of Difference: Hearing each other, Healing the earth. Over 500 programs will feature lectures, dialogues, workshops, symposia, performances and exhibits, with participation and delivery by renowned spiritual, religious, civic, academic and political leaders, from Australia and overseas.
Set to welcome up to 8,000 visitors from more than 80 countries, Melbourne will provide religious communities and their leaders the opportunity to express their identities and discuss their challenges through an array of interreligious programs that will encourage cross cultural dialogue and allow for multiple voices to express their perspectives on a truly international stage.
