I want to bless bikie clubhouse: Fr Bob

Published: March 19, 2010

Father Bob Maguire

---

Prominent Melbourne priest Father Bob Maguire wants to bless the South Melbourne clubhouse of an outlaw motorcycle gang, the Comancheros, although he hasn't actually been invited to do so.

"I saw it in the newspaper last week and I said I should go and make them an offer," he was quoted as saying by the Herald-Sun.

"I'm a blesser, I blessed the casino years ago and got in trouble for that, I blessed a 10-metre tall cork bottle yesterday down on Southbank ... and you've got two other joints I'm after. One of them is the Comencheros and the other is Neverland."

Fr Maguire said he was only doing the work of Jesus.

"What would Jesus do? According to the reading of the gospels he was criticized because he spent more time with the undesirables then he did with the desirables," he said.
