CathNews announces special coverage of Mackillop canonization

Published: September 22, 2010

An array of pilgrim photographers, pilgrim bloggers, social media, and reflections from Australia's leading Churchmen will lead Cathnews' special coverage of the canonization of Mary Mackillop next month.

Luke Kenny, CEO of Church Resources which publishes CathNews, said there would be eight special editions of CathNews, containing features exclusive to its subscribers.

Highlights of the special content include calls to Pilgrim Photographers and Pilgrim Bloggers to share their experiences through new social media applications, including a photo sharing site and on Facebook.

CathNews will publish special editions from Sunday, October 10 every day through to Sunday, October 17 - the date of the Mass in St Peter’s Square.

This unprecedented publishing schedule for CathNews reflects the importance to the Church, to Australian Catholics, and indeed to all Australians, of the life, the work, and the faith of this courageous nun who did so much in her lifetime to help the poor and the desperate," Luke Kenny said.
