Published: September 29, 2010

Pope Benedict, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and pop singer Lady Gaga have been counted among the "50 People Who Matter" in 2010 in the British current affairs magazine New Statesman.

To be counted among the 50, a person must "have world-changing potential", said a report about the list on examiner.com.

Other people who made it to top 50 include US President Barack Obama, Angelina Jolie and Oprah Winfrey - as well as Osama bin Laden, at Number 21.
