What's on - 'Santamaria's salesman' book launch

Published: April 25, 2012

Santa's SalesmanPublished by John Garratt, Kevin Peoples' Santamaria's Salesman is now available and will be launched in Melbourne this Sunday 29 April.

This book is the first to draw on primary resource material from the Santamaria files held by the State Library of Victoria since the publication of the Santamaria documents edited by Patrick Morgan, according to the publishers.

"Within the narrative framework of his own involvement, Kevin Peoples shows how Santamaria's charisma and authoritarian character continuously subverted the NCRM's aims as an official form of Catholic Action, to follow his own impractical vision for Australia as an agrarian society."

The book will be launched by Fr Bruce Duncan on Sunday 29 April at the Brigidine Centre, 52 Beaconsfield Parade, Albert Park at 3 pm. Light refreshments will be served.
