Schools to celebrate Catholic Education Week

Published: February 19, 2008

Catholic Schools Week celebrations are set for both Victoria and New South Wales in the coming weeks.

Catholic School's Week will be held this year in Victoria from 9 March to 16 with the theme of the event Living Witness inspired by World Youth Day.

The Mass for Schools at St Patrick's Cathedral will be held on 13 March and the other highlights will include the CEW Address and a visual arts exhibition.

The exhibition on 16 March, will be the last official celebration of the event.

Catholic Education Week celebrates the work of Catholic schools which is integral to the ministry of the Church.

Across NSW and ACT Catholic Schools Week is scheduled for 30 March to 4 April, and, for the first time, will involve the communities of all 613 Catholic primary and secondary schools across the state and territory.

The main aim of the week is to raise awareness and celebrate the strength and distinctiveness of Catholic schools across the State.

The theme Learning in Action will provide an opportunity for Catholic schools to showcase what is done every day in schools by opening classrooms and inviting the community in to experience teaching and learning at its best.
