  4. Cardinal Philippe Barbarin

    Claire O’Mara, an American Ursuline sister, spent her life dedicated to matters of social justice, and to the causes of the people of Mexico, Peru, and the Bronx. Moved by the murder of a sister Ursuline in El Salvador by US-trained graduates of the School of the Americas, Sr Claire turned protestor, and then after she was sentenced to prison for her part in a demonstration outside Fort Benning (location of the School of the Americas) she joined an admirable and elite band – prisoners of conscience.
