    A State funeral in Melbourne marked the final public event in the wonderful life and sad death of AFL icon, Jim Stynes. A champion footballer, youth worker, philanthropist, twice Victorian of the Year, husband, father and son, in his journey through cancer to his death, Stynes became so much more than that. Jim Stynes taught us all a final lesson; according to wife Sam, "Jim's lesson is that life was to be challenged and treasured."
