General Manager - Catholic Development Fund, Sydney, NSW

Following a highly successful tenure the incumbent General Manager is retiring. The Archbishop of Sydney through the Advisory Board is seeking a General Manager to lead and manage the total operations of the CDF.

The Opportunity

The Catholic Development Fund (CDF) is one of Australia’s largest Church funds and is a vital activity of the Archdiocese of Sydney. The CDF provides loans to Catholic entities especially in the areas of education, health and aged care. It also has a significant short and long term investment portfolio. Operating surpluses are in the main distributed to the Archdiocese and Parishes to support the Mission of the Church.

Following a highly successful tenure the incumbent General Manager is retiring. The Archbishop of Sydney through the Advisory Board is seeking a General Manager to lead and manage the total operations of the CDF.

The Role

  • In collaboration with the Advisory Board, develop the CDF’s Strategy to build the CDF through organic growth and business development while being aligned with the Pastoral vision and goals of the Archdiocese
  • Lead and develop a strong and effective team that is pastorally focused and commercially oriented, ensuring prudential management of the CDF
  • Nurture constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the Archdiocese and its agencies, parishes, schools, health and aged care providers, congregations, other CDFs

Experience

  • Successful track record in a leadership role in a large credit union or commercial bank with breadth of experience across commercial banking & lending, financial management, treasury investments, financial services risk management and strategic planning
  • Highly effective networking and stakeholder relationship management skills underpinned by strong leadership skills to develop and enhance the capability of a high performing team
  • Demonstrated commitment to the ethos and values of the Catholic Church
